INNER CHILD
Pete Medium © 1985
There is a sweet place far away,
It’s clearly in my mind.
I’d love to take you there someday,
If you can find the time.
It’s in another hemisphere; it’s in another world.
There is no hate, no pain no fear,
It’s the place of the inner child
Way deep down inside us all
Lays this tranquil and peaceful pool.
It’s our link to Creation’s love,
Our connection to God
You need no pass no member’s fee,
You need no special skills.
You need no Church or special place,
All you need’s the will.
Once you’ve been there you’ll want to stay,
How clear your mind will see.
You’ll break those bonds that hold you back,
Yes you’ll break free.
WHO ARE OUR SPIRIT FRIENDS
Our Spirit Friends are those of the Purest of the Heavenly Beings available to assist and Guide us on our personal Spiritual journey. For some it’s the Holy Spirit and for others it is the Arch Angels, Guardian Angels or personal Spirit Guides.
The Purer our conscience, the higher the Feed we receive for our requests of a Spiritual nature.
Requests that relate only to our humanist needs, become the ‘territory’ of a lower grade of Guidance.
Eventually, as our requests become exclusively for our material and physical needs, the Higher Realm becomes less needed.
As a simple explanation, would we seek advice for a plumbing matter from a medical centre?
However it became obvious to the medical centre that the plumbing matter was the cause of our ill health, then yes they would intervene.
So it is that as we search for Purity of Guidance of the Highest Spiritual Realm, our human needs become an extremely important part of their Assistance to us.
Basically put, if your primary concentration with the Spirit Realm is for the improvement of your Spiritual growth, all of your basic material needs will be met: Miracles do happen.
The Purer the Heart of the requester, the Purer the level of Spiritual Flow.
THE THREE FIVES MEDITATION
It was around 2005 that I first started teaching a form of meditation that my Spirit Friends had given to me, that I shared via classes, circles and Spiritualist meetings at that time. Later, in 2010, I included an abbreve, but rather confusing version in my book, On The Light Path, A Psychic’s Journey.
It’s not that there weren’t other forms of meditations available, in fact there were too many, especially for those in the majority who had trouble stilling their minds enough to get started.
I called it the Three Fives Meditation, because it consists of three stages.
The idea of this meditation is not to create instant interaction for a person with their Spirit Guides, but to simply discipline the mind enough for such an occurrence to possibly happen in the future. It is going to take time, regular participation and discipline for the mind to been trained to enter this special state of tranquillity. It may take many, many months, in some cases, before your mind is ready for the Highest vibration needed to interact with Spirit Guides of the Highest Calibre.
Sadly, however, far too many people who have asked me for the meditation, are expecting a short cut. It just won’t happen. It has to be the ‘full nine yards’.
THE THREE FIVES SIMPLE ATTUNEMENT MEDITATION
1) Before getting started, prepare a place and time that best suits you and your family commitments, where that applies.
As this is very early days in the process, and the last thing you need is distractions, ensure you have a quiet place to sit for around fifteen to twenty minutes with out distractions.
That time will vary as you become more accustomed to the procedure.
This means turning off phones, radios, TV and anything else that may disturb you.
Determine when you want to try the meditation. For some it might be once or twice a day, for others a couple of times a week, while it might suit some for just once a week.
So long as the time choice is regular because again the mind will need all the help it can get to be calmed to the level you’ll need for the peace the meditation should bring.
Remember this is only till you have established the base plan for your mind to get used to. Later on, after a month or so of regular meditation, you can make all the adjustments you like as the mind now has a basic understanding of what to expect.
2) For some, there will always be disturbances over which you have no control, such as noisy neighbours, your own or neighbours pets, children’s needs, or traffic noises that distract you.
In these instances, an external place may be the answer, though not necessarily on a daily basis.
A quiet and safe place, either in town, near a beach, around nature in a park reserve or anywhere where you can sit for up to a half hour without being disturbed would be a good choice.
I initially started in a church in the afternoon between jobs. Catholic churches are often open to the public on a daily basis.
3) Initially, some people would say they used soft meditation music and used incense, while others found such things distracting. The choice is entirely up to you, and can be varied as you see fit in the initial days of the meditation.
There is no need to sit in any particular posture or pose, so long as your seating position does not cause you discomfort, circulation restrictions or cramping problems.
SO WE BEGIN
We start by checking our physical body is loose and relaxed. You can do this by tensioning and then relaxing your neck, shoulders, arms and main trunk of your body so that you’re as supple and as comfortable as is possible.
Next, be conscious of your mind status. Are there thoughts whirling around in your mind? I would say for most beginners that would be a big yes.
This simple expression and tension release process helped me originally: I took in a deep breath and when I exhaled, I would smile. I’d then do it again, but this time it was with a ‘devil may care’ sense of release.
I suggest you have no expectations concerning what will come next. After all, you’re trying to still the mind, not activate it.
Clearing the mind of all thoughts, emotions, feeling, expectations, worries, and apprehensions of any kind, will take time and practice, but the fact that you are repeating the meditation process is showing the mind there is another way to be.
THE THREE FIVE MEDITATION
Ok so now is when you’d close your eyes and begin.
Step One: Slowly breath in a long breath, hold the breath without straining yourself, and then release the breath. Remember your aim is to slow down your mind, so just like when you go to sleep, you start by slowing down your breathing.
Now repeat this process five times.
Once completed, slowly open your eyes and note if anything looks, or feels, different in the room.
Most won’t notice much of a change, if at all, because the experience is still quite new and the mind is no where near as calm as it’s meant to be yet.
Over time, maybe a few weeks of doing two meditations a day as an example, most will fell a slight difference after the first five.
Step Two: Repeat step one and again, and at the end of the breathing exercise, open your eyes and again note if there is a difference.
For some, it may be subtle and for others it may be nothing has changed at all. Patience is the key with this meditation.
Step Three: Again repeat step one and again, at the end, note if there is a change of energy or a feeling different, and better, than when you first started.
For those of you who may have fallen asleep, don’t be concerned. Just like a computer, your mind could well be going through a defragging process and the best way for that to happen is to sleep.
VARIATIONS
So that’s it. That’s the basic meditation that you can build on over time. The only rule is that it needs to be done regularly and repeatedly as instructed. This is when it works best. It is a discipline and a dedication. And it is a positive life changer for many.
After you have been practicing the Three Fives for at least two weeks at two time a day, your mind should be ready for some variants. Here are a few suggestions.
The Cuppa Variant: Because time and convenience can be difficult for some people, especially for those that originally had a set time, place and routine interrupted by circumstances beyond their control, or who would simply like a variation, here’s a suggestion.
First thing in the morning, assuming there are no distractions, make yourself a cup of tea/coffee or whatever is you preference, take it to a quiet place, and start the Three Fives Meditation. At the end of each stage, take a drink of your beverage and then go onto the next stage.
The idea of this is to create a trigger for later on when your mind becomes familiar with the meditation process. Having a ‘cuppa’ will trigger the mind, even for the shortest of time frame meditations, should you need one.
The Flying Variant: As the meditation become routine, and the mind shows definite signs of a relaxed and released status, you might like to vary the routine.
In the first five, as per the original, concentrate on the relaxed breathing to bring you into that comfort zone.
At the second set of fives, and as you slip deeper into the quiet zone, imagine you are actually flying. Let your imagination have you lifting your wings and letting the lightness of the environment have you floating ever upwards, like a bird flying.
By doing this, you are controlling, or willing your mind through the meditation, as opposed to being passive, as you have been in the previous examples.
This is showing you the difference between your own instigation of thoughts, and those thoughts that just ‘happen’. In time, the ‘just happened’ thoughts could well be the beginning of Spiritual Messages, including trancing, and the first step towards building a psychic connection with your Highest Guidance.
The Elevator Variant: For those that are not comfortable with the concept of being suspended in nothing, with nothing visible below or above holding you, this variant may suffice.
Again, after finishing the first five and as you instigate the second set, imagine you are entering an elevator. Allow the elevator to take you slowly skyward, deeper and deeper into the peace of this Inner Space.
What’s Your Variant: Whatever your variant, be aware that it is you instigating your mind, rather than the other way round.
Now this may sound weird because our mind is our thoughts. Yes and no. From a very young age we are taught to trust ‘outside’ input, not what is already there.
So with the medication and the various variants, you are training your brain to move more towards ‘intuition’, that is teachings from within your own knowing, and less towards what others have told that you’ve blindly followed.
Intuition, and therefore discernment, are the major keys to a stable and properly functioning mind.
And that leads us onto this question:
MEDITATIONS: WHAT ARE THEY GOOD FOR
There are all variations of meditations we are told are the right ones.
Some involve sitting in the Lotus position, with chanted or worded phrases or mantras, including those of religious organisations who repeat litanies, rosaries or prayers .
Others involving very long and deep trance contemplations where sleeping is frowned upon, but often inevitable for beginners.
Then there are those that include loud chanting, drumming or singing.
And of course, those that advocate the use of substances such as marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, or similar substances.
This begs the question: Does one meditation style suit all intentions?
Chanting, drumming, singing and partaking of substances are not suitable for deep Spiritual development because the do the very opposite of what they are meant to do. They are distractions that the mind doesn’t want at such time.
It stands to reason that if you are using a meditation to relax, clear the head and bring you into a state of mental peace for a mind that urgently needs calming, then the hour long, or more meditation, is perfect. Sleeping is not optional. Sleeping is mandatory.
If one wishes to meditate in a collective, such as Buddhist, Christian or large meditation groups, can these long meditations be used for spiritual development?
Yes they can. However, many are put off with these long stretches of time in reflective mode and eventually give up, unless they are deeply dedicated.
Hence why my Spirit Friends introduced me to the Three Five Meditation.
More than forty years ago, I went searching for an appropriate meditation, simply to still my very hyperactive mind. Like so many of you, I’m sure, I was offered meditations not unlike the above examples, only to find they didn’t work, and I ended up being rebuked for not doing the meditation properly.
It was when I would sit in a church for half hour periods while waiting to change over from one job to another, that I would find peace of mind. Why was that, I thought?
Without being conscious of it, I would initially exhale a massive breath, as if throwing out all the frustrating, conflicting and bothersome crap that seemed to swirl around in my confused mind. Being bronchial asthmatic at that time, I had learned to use deep breathing when I’d sense the onset of an attack. As a matter of habit, I simply started that breathing process.
After many months, not only did I find my mind clearing from the confusion, I also started to receive subtle messages. Some I dismissed as imaginings and others that seemed to linger long, after I’d left the church.
One such lingering was when I was sitting in the church, I happened to be looking towards the high ceiling of exposed timber beams and was sure I saw rats and mice running along the supports. As I pondered this, a ‘thought’ came to mind that I was seeing the future of Christianity: The mice and rats have infiltrated the Holy places and devoured them.
So it was from back then that I first started the crude version of what I have introduced to you as Three Five’s Meditation.
Was it a coincident that I happened to have that half hour free between jobs?
That I found the Church a cool and pleasant place to kill that time, especially with our hot summers?
That I instinctively started the breathing technique?
And that I received numerous ‘thoughts’ that later became actual facts?
THE SPIRITUAL ASPECT
For many, the meditation as I’ve explained it, may be all that’s needed. It certainly does no harm and in fact it helps to resets the mind in the same way defragging and virus programs clean a computer. It can’t harm you.
However, for those who wish to go further, to increase Spiritual interaction or who have been experiencing various psychic activity, this is the next step.
THE CLEANSING
Before attempting any inter communication with the Spirit world, we have to cleanse ourselves.
Even though we have been doing the Three Fives Meditation for at least a few months before trying to make contact with Guidance, or Spirit of the Higher calibre, we are still open to ‘interference’.
This interference can be anything from lovely souls who are lost and trying to find answers to their loneliness, to angry and aggressive souls who refuse to face the disciplines of the spirit world. Remember, though these souls may have passed over a long time ago, they may not understand that. Time in the spirit real is nothing like the time here in the physical world.
Had Sam, in the Sam Story, not had two friends who were psychic, he’d probably still be sitting in that dark room complaining about the ‘happiness’ going on next door. Reading The Sam Story explains what I mean.
The original Three Five meditation always stays the same, no matter what the person’s intention.
Start the first set of Five breaths as per usual, aware that you are calling for Truth, Honesty and Purity of thought. This should also be done with all your regular Three Five meditation, but particularly so when calling on the Spirit world of the Highest calibre.
To put it another way, if you are wanting to draw in spirits in your meditation that will show you how to cheat, lie, manipulate or activate some skulduggery, you not going to get it.
When you have reached the beginning of the third set, especially if you believe, or have been told you have certain icons, especially family members, saints or other recognised identities, such as the overly used Comte St. Germin, as your Guide, this next bit is a must. Even for those starting their Spiritual Journey for the first time, this part is important.
In your mind, call to these aforementioned entities, even if you don’t know whether there are any there, thank them sincerely for whatever help they have done for you over the past years, and then ask them to leave you, and to go to where they are meant to be in accordance with Spirit Law.
Don’t try holding onto them in any way. Release them.
Now if they are meant to stay with you, if that is their place to be, then all the dismissing under the sun won’t send them away, because their being with you is in accordance with Spirit Law.
The reason we need to do this releasing is because we may have been holding onto guidance that have, unintentionally, been preventing our Spiritual growth, especially if they have been the only Guidance we have know for a very long time.
By using this Spirit Law dismissal, you are sending a message to say you want only the best of Guidance so that you can best server the Creator as you work through your Soul’s Journey this incarnation.
Over the many years I have taught this particular part of the meditation, I have been saddened to find, years later, that certain ‘I don’t need to release anything’ psychic persons have either moved on from spiritual work, or are living in a very troubling mind state.
Once you have completed this releasing, sit in the complete stillness and emptiness of your mind, knowing you are worthy of the Creator’s best for you.
Then, as you slowly open your eyes and return to your conscious surroundings, take note of how differently, if at all, the room or place seems.
At first there may not be much of a change, but if we run this release as part of our meditation regularly, (in my case I use it before any of my Spiritual work) time will show it is definitely having a beneficial effect, not only on sorting out the mind’s confusion, but also on increasing thoughts and ideas that previously you could only have beg for.
